We are currently placing veterinary volunteers with VetMatch Partner Organisations in the following locations:

CAMBODIA

Location:

Phnom Penh with regular outreach to provinces, pagodas and islands

Volunteers required:

Veterinarians and veterinary nurses; recently graduated veterinarians and advanced vet students (non-surgical roles)

Type of work:

Medical and surgical; general nursing; staff training; animal birth control and anti-rabies vaccination camps; socialisation of street-dogs for re-homing; community education

Requested commitment:

2-3 weeks minimum

Timing of deployment:

All year

Provided:

Limited accommodation

 

BOTSWANA

Location:

Based in Maun, with some outreach to regions; near the famous Okavango Delta

Volunteers required:

Veterinarians and veterinary nurses

Type of work:

medical and surgical; general nursing; animal birth control and anti-rabies vaccination camps

Requested commitment:

2-3 weeks minimum

Timing of deployment:

All year

Provided:

Accommodation

LADAKH (India)

Location:

Based in Leh with possible outreach to regions

Volunteers required:

Veterinarians only

Type of work:

Animal birth control surgery and anti-rabies vaccination; general healthcare

Requested commitment:

3 weeks minimum

Timing of deployment:

April to mid October

Provided:

Simple lunch and light refreshment; accommodation when working in outlying villages.

 

SAMOA (dates to be confirmed, but expressions of interest now being accepted)

Location:

Based in Apia with occasional outreach outlying areas and outer islands

Volunteers required:

Veterinarians and veterinary nurses;

Type of work:

General healthcare; surgery; surgical support; animal birth control campaigns; community education

Requested commitment:

2-3 weeks minimum

Timing of deployment:

During dry season (likely commencement September 2018)

Provided:

Accommodation; some meals

 

SARDINIA

Location:

Olbia

Volunteers required:

Veterinarians and veterinary nurses

Type of work:

Animal birth control surgery

Requested commitment:

2 weeks

Timing of deployment:

Usually May and October; placements may be available at other times

Provided:

Accommodation during sterilisation campaigns

Rabies vaccination not required for Sardinia

 

SIKKIM (India)

Location:

Based in Gangtok with outreach to villages statewide

Volunteers required:

Veterinarians and veterinary nurses

Type of work:

Animal birth control surgery and anti-rabies vaccination; general healthcare; community education

Requested commitment:

2-3 weeks minimum

Timing of deployment:

April and May; mid October to end November

Provided:

Accommodation; simple lunches
