Sydney University\u2019s Centre for Veterinary Education volunteered\u00a0to\u00a0design, produce and market\u00a0<em>Vet Cookbook\u00a0<\/em>free-of-charge as their way of \u2018giving back\u2019 and supporting a profession that has some of the highest rates of compassion fatigue, burnout and suicide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing stressed out is bad enough, but everything\u2019s worse when you\u2019re hungry,\u201d says CVE\u2019s marketing material for the cookbook. \u201cAnd sometimes a good meal can lead to a meaningful conversation. Which can break down barriers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Vet Cookbook<\/em>\u00a0contains over 100 recipes, many of which can easily be whipped up in the most rudimentary of vet practice kitchens from just a few simple ingredients. The recipes are interspersed with personal accounts from colleagues\u2014vets, vet nurses, groomers, students, practice owners\u2014who have overcome tough times as well as tips from mental health professionals and others on how to manage difficult emotions, maintain wellbeing and get help if need be.<\/p>\n<p>You can order\u00a0<em>Vet Cookbook<\/em>\u00a0by visiting the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cve.edu.au\/vet-cookbook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CVE website<\/a>.
