\nOrang-Artan Competition for the wild child in your life!<\/strong><\/h1>\n

\nGet creative and help rescue orangutans from the illegal wildlife trade, and this year the competition theme is “Wildlife of Sumatra and Borneo” <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Do you have a wild child climbing the walls? Are you a teacher who loves art, science, conservation or all of the above? You\u2019re invited to take part in the annual international Orang-Artan Competition! At the same time, you\u2019ll be helping rescue young orangutans from the illegal wildlife trade, giving them a second chance at a life of freedom in the wild.<\/p>\n

With three age ranges and cool prizes to be won, any child aged 4 to 12 can put on their creative cap, choose their favourite colours, and go wild! Read on to find out how to register an individual Wild Child or a Class Group of up to 30 students. Let’s do it for the orangutans!<\/p>\n

They\u2019re awarding First, Second and Third<\/em> Prizes in each age group, as well as special prizes for schools. Similar to last year, each judge will also name a Special Mention prize to provide encouragement to one young artist. Winning artists will receive beautiful prints from Eggpicnic, brand new orangutan sticker sheets from Ben Pearmain, a book from Emma Quay, cute orangutan toys, and art supplies!<\/p>\n

Orang-Artan Competition – How does it work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. To register a child or class group<\/strong>, please click on the age group of the child or class below.<\/li>\n
  2. See the registration costs here<\/a> – you can make payment in any of the following currencies<\/strong>: US dollars, <\/em>Australian dollars, New Zealand dollars, Canadian dollars, British pounds, Euro<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Once you\u2019ve registered, you’ll be sent the guidelines<\/strong> so your children or students can start making orang-art!<\/li>\n
  4. Please follow The Orangutan Project on <\/strong>Facebook<\/a>, <\/strong>Instagram<\/a> or <\/strong>Twitter <\/a>to see tons of photos<\/strong> of orangutans and updates about the competition.<\/li>\n
  5. Please submit your child\u2019s or students’ artwork via email at competition@theorangutanproject.org<\/a> by Friday 12 November 2021.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Your child’s entry should be of species or ecosystems found on the islands of Sumatra or Borneo.<\/li>\n
  7. A team with a background in art will develop a shortlist.<\/li>\n
  8. The judging panel will assess the shortlists<\/strong> in each age category and decide on First, Second and Third Prizes for each age category.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    They’ll announce winners<\/strong> in all three age categories at a special live-streamed ceremony in early December – and you’ll all be invited!<\/p>\n
