{"id":12067,"date":"2018-12-01T06:23:45","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T19:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/veterinarycareers.com.au\/dev\/?p=12067"},"modified":"2019-01-31T16:52:59","modified_gmt":"2019-01-31T05:52:59","slug":"call-for-nominations-wild-horse-scientific-advisory-panel-for-kosciuszko-national-park-closes-21-dec-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/veterinarycareers.com.au\/dev\/call-for-nominations-wild-horse-scientific-advisory-panel-for-kosciuszko-national-park-closes-21-dec-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for nominations: Wild Horse Scientific Advisory Panel for Kosciuszko National Park, Closes 21 Dec 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"title-container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-10\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/veterinarycareers.com.au\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/NSW-Nat-Parks.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-12068\" src=\"https:\/\/veterinarycareers.com.au\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/NSW-Nat-Parks-300x120.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>Applications close: Close of business Friday, 21 December 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">Advertiser: NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-2\">\n<p class=\"title\">Location: NSW<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"content-wysiwyg\">\n<p>Applications are now open for membership of the Wild Horse Scientific Advisory Panel.<\/p>\n<p>The Panel will provide rigorous scientific and technical advice to the Office of Environment and Heritage to inform preparation of a draft wild horse heritage management plan for Kosciuszko National Park to be prepared under the Kosciuszko Wild Horse Heritage Act 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations are invited from persons with expertise and skills in one or more of the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cultural heritage assessment and management<\/li>\n<li>animal welfare and veterinary science<\/li>\n<li>animal population survey, modelling and statistical analysis<\/li>\n<li>horse ecology (including demography, reproduction and behaviour) and\/or horse population control techniques<\/li>\n<li>vertebrate pest species management, including assessment of impacts to natural and cultural values<\/li>\n<li>biology and ecology of the flora and fauna of the Australian Alps \/ Kosciuszko National Park and associated alpine, sub alpine and montane ecosystems<\/li>\n<li>soil erosion and soil processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The size of the Panel will be determined based on the range of expertise received in nominations.
