Description
After four years in practice, one of our amazing vets is setting off to do her big OE and we are looking for another fabulous vet to fill some big shoes! Starting date negotiable from November 2019 to February 2020.
Full time small animal veterinarian required for privately owned practice in East Auckland, NZ. Rostered to work less than 40 hours per week with a big supportive clinic. No after hours, no Sundays, no public holidays and only one short Saturday a month (with a day in lieu).
This role is only suitable for an experienced vet (2+years) with a NZ APC that is a keen team player, who wants to increase their skills and achieve to a high standard! An interest in surgery or medicine or both is encouraged and CPD readily available & supported.
We have six vets and a large number of super awesome fully qualified and experienced nurses plus three fulltime receptionists and a boss that allows freedom for lifestyle, ingenuity and individuality. We all work as peers who enjoy having fun and practicing exceptional quality care. We have an excellent reputation in developing client relationships and individuality as well as sharing cases. There is often multiple vets on at one time, so this allows for great case discussion for those head-scratching medical cases or an extra pair of hands scrubbed in for a tricky surgery! You have time to spend with your clients. We also have a small animal branch clinic that is rural so if you enjoy horse talk, lambs and chickens but not large animal work that may be a great place for you to do the odd shift!
The clinics are growing rapidly; we have all the mod cons, digital and dental radiology, in house bloods, ultrasound, electrocautery, dental machine, microscope, Doppler, fluid pumps etc.
East Auckland is close to great shopping and fabulous beaches with affluent clientele, with many patients insured.
We also work extensively with Lonely Miaow as well as our own Registered Charity, The Rock Vets and provide the sole vet care to Niue Island. We send a large team of vets and nurses over to run free clinics and to provide vet care to the pets there. Staff all love this incredible opportunity to change the lives of those less fortunate.
Excellent remuneration offered to the right candidate.
