RVC invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher Grade 6 position, commencing in October 2019 to work as part of multi-institution research teams conducting two projects in India.
One of the projects focuses on the safety of milk and dairy products in Andhra Pradesh. The second project studies the emergence and transfer of antimicrobial resistance in poultry chains in Southern India. The position will be based at the Royal Veterinary College and the candidate will work with other members of the Veterinary Epidemiology Economics and Public Health Group, which is part of the Department for Pathobiology and Population Sciences (PPS).
The successful candidate will work at the Hawkshead Campus in Hatfield. In collaboration with research partners in the UK and India, the candidate will contribute to the design of surveys and instruments for quantitative and qualitative data gathering, take part in field activities in India, analyse data, develop probabilistic models for the fate of foodborne pathogens along food chains and play an important role in communication of research outputs to research partners, funders and stakeholders. Although this is a research position, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and learning activities and develop educational skills.
The successful candidate will form part of a vibrant team of veterinary epidemiologists and animal health economists at the Royal Veterinary College, working in the Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics and Public Health group. Travel to India can be expected where necessary.
