No, we are not some small boutique practice in little old Tassie. We are a large, highly regarded and expanding team of professionals. Our exceptionally versatile practice owner is seeking retirement! This is opening a unique opportunity for someone of a similar skill set (or looking to gain) in, but not limited to, orthopaedic surgery and specialist ‘type’ procedures. As Roger has gained many unique skills over his 42 years of practice that leaves him in a position where he cannot fully walk away in good conscience until the gaps in skill set have been filled.

 

 

He is still willing to be about as a mentor and problem solver. So, we are looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our family owned mixed practice in the central north of Tasmania. This is a genuine mixed practice with our case load evenly spread between cattle (mostly dairy), horses, and small animals. We currently have 6 - 7 vets working on any one day, and are looking to add another. We are seeking someone who either is, or has the potential to become, an elite mixed practice veterinarian, preferably with a bias towards small animal surgery including orthopaedics. The practice has a superb range of equipment, which facilitates the high level of expertise and care that we strive to provide – that equals great job satisfaction!

 

Clientele are very good and appreciative of our quality service provided. Nursing staff are some of the best in Tassie, giving competent support including after-hours availability. Veterinarians are encouraged to pursue their own cases through to completion or the limit of their ability, with back up or bail out provided as needed! Teamwork is a priority for us, with all staff contributing to a happy work environment, while providing quality care. Due to the number of veterinary staff, there is real potential to pursue particular areas of professional interest, whilst maintaining competency across all species.

 

We pride ourselves on providing cost effective high quality care, and have equipment to facilitate that performance well in excess of what you may expect for a semi-rural practice. By being able to provide high quality care without having to refer all the interesting and challenging cases, the job satisfaction is very high, and we have a history of long term staff that are happy and fulfilled in their work. After hours shared evenly between the more junior staff, with senior staff being available as back up 24/7. Salary range according to experience, and new or recent graduates are welcome to apply.

 

Socially Deloraine is a town of about 2,500 within 35 minutes of provincial cities of Devonport & Launceston. Ski fields, bush walking, lake & ocean fishing all within one hour. The town itself is well equipped with sporting facilities, schools, etc (even pubs).
