Look no further! We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to work in the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens Zoo, where you'll embark on a fulfilling journey filled with incredible encounters, educational experiences, and lifelong memories.
- Permanent, part-time position. Twenty-three (23) hours per week.
- Remuneration package of $1,398.61 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $1,678.33 gross per fortnight based on part time hours of work + superannuation.

This position will be responsible for:
- Undertake zookeeper duties including care of animals, feeding and watering animals, health checks, clean and maintain yards, conduct guided tours, and maintain registers e.g., animal, chemical and spraying etc.
- Work closely with the Zoo Curator to provide quality animal handling and enrichment activities.
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members to coordinate the activities of Council’s Zoo and ensure legislative compliance.
As the successful applicant, you will:
- Hold a Certificate III in Captive Animals or equivalent role specific qualifications.
- Hold a current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Hold a General Construction Induction Training Certificate (White Card)
- Have a compassionate nature, excel as a team player, maintain physical fitness, and demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Q-Fever and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
