• Permanent, part-time position. Twenty-three (23) hours per week.
• Remuneration package of $1,398.61 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $1,678.33 gross per fortnight based on part time hours of work + superannuation.

This position will be responsible for:

• Undertake zookeeper duties including care of animals, feeding and watering animals, health checks, clean and maintain yards, conduct guided tours, and maintain registers e.g., animal, chemical and spraying etc.
• Work closely with the Zoo Curator to provide quality animal handling and enrichment activities.
• Work collaboratively with fellow team members to coordinate the activities of Council’s Zoo and ensure legislative compliance.

As the successful applicant, you will:

• Hold a Certificate III in Captive Animals or equivalent role specific qualifications.
• Hold a current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Hold a General Construction Induction Training Certificate (White Card)
• Have a compassionate nature, excel as a team player, maintain physical fitness, and demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills.

In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Q-Fever and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
