As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, we have an opportunity for a passionate and experienced Part Time Lost Valley Liaison Officer to support our Lost Valley and Wildlife team. About the Role
Reporting to the Wildlife Manager, we are seeking a professional applicant who will be energetic, enthusiastic and have a high level of general wildlife knowledge and professional customer service skills. This role will involve delivering an energetic, friendly, and professional customer experience for our guests in the Lost Valley aviary while ensuring the safety of the guests and animals.
About You
The successful applicant must hold or be studying Certificate III Captive Animal Management.
Duties for this role includes, but not limited to; guest interactions, keeper talks as well as animal observations and enrichment activities. We are seeking professional applicants who will be energetic, enthusiastic and have a high level of general wildlife knowledge and professional customer service skills. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:
- Can deliver a high level of friendly customer service to all domestic & international visitors.
- Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in all weathers, in a role that requires substantial walking in a workplace that contains animals including birds and reptiles.
- Has a high level of energy, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Must be flexible and reliable with a positive ‘can do’ attitude in our team environment.
- Ability to carry / support up to 10kg for a prolonged period.
- Must be prepared to complete all necessary training and immunisations as may be required for this role.
- Flexible and availability to work across weekends and school holiday holidays.
