About the job
We are currently looking for a full-time wildlife officer to ensure effective control of predatory wildlife to maximize productivity and smooth operations. This position works across a 2/2/3 roster.
In this role, you will drive operational performance through a responsible, safe, and coordinated approach to predatory and feral wildlife control. Other duties can include:
· Operate firearms and animal trapping devices;
· Monitoring pond checks routinely;
· Escalation of excessive predatory issues in timely manner;
· Maintenance and delivery of our ongoing licence to operate; and
· Ensuring all biosecurity practices are adhere to 100% of the time.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
· Be fully licenced to operate firearms and animal trapping devices;
· Admirable attention to detail;
· Be a great problem-solver, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations;
· Be safety minded, clearly recognising boundaries of expertise and be accountable for own actions;
· Ability to build rapport internally and externally, to ensure optimum outcomes are achieved; and
· Live and breath a safety culture, actively embracing our safety rules and ensuring team compliance.
