Description

Koala Conservation Australia Ltd (KCA) is one of the leading authorities in koala care, education, conservation and research. It is a not-for-profit organisation and is internationally recognised for its wild Koala conservation work. The organisation is primarily run by volunteers and is managed by a Board of Directors who are volunteers. KCA is a company limited by guarantee (ASIC) and a registered charity (ACNC) The organisation operates the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital to care for sick and injured koalas and this facility is open to visitors. This is a significant tourist attraction within Port Macquarie.

As KCA's Visitor Experience Officer, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors arriving at KCA venues.
Your primary purpose is to create a welcoming and positive visitor experience by greeting each guest, efficiently processing ticket sales, and providing essential information and customer service about our venues and organisation.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences to all visitors at KCA.
  • Ability to work effectively within a passionate and high-performing team.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties as needed during peak times.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process ticket sales accurately through credit/debit transactions, including applying any applicable discounts.
  • Welcome each visitor with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Provide assistance with directions and information, including addressing any special needs or accommodations.
  • Support various aspects of the KCA visitor experience, including retail operations, events, and programs as required.

 

Working Hours:

This position operates on a rotating roster with 4-hour shifts available:

  • Morning: 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM
  • Afternoon: 12:15 PM to 4:15 PM Please note that the hospital is open every day, except Christmas Day.
