Veterinary Technician Required

About the Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are a busy mixed animal veterinary hospital on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. The successful applicant will be joining a team of 7 veterinarians, 10 nurses, 3 Client Care Experts and our administrators. You would be working a 38 hour week on average, with some Saturday work required. As we operate a 24 hour emergency service, you may also be required to assist our veterinarians on call from time to time.

To be considered for the position, you must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology ( or equivalent) with at least 3 years experience in a similar role.

The successful candidate’s key responsibilities will include:

-ongoing training and development of our nursing team

-mentoring and supervision of veterinary nursing and veterinary technology students as part of our University Partner Practice program

-assisting the Operations Administrator with rostering

-ensuring compliance of OH &S protocols

-surgical and medical nursing including proficiency with diagnostic imaging and     dentistry techniques

-monitoring of anaesthesia

-admissions and discharges of surgical patients

-maintenance of technical equipment and instrumentation

-meticulous attention to detail

-reporting directly to the Practice Manager

-ability to work well in a cohesive team environment
