Veterinary Specialists of Sydney is a leading 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital committed to providing exceptional veterinary care. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a brand-new 1.5T MRI, 64-slice CT scanner, three fluoroscopy units, endoscopy, digital radiology, and ultrasound, and every other surgical tool you can wish for. Position Overview:

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated veterinary surgical residents to join our team and participate in a veterinary surgeon training program. As a key member of our surgical team, you will have the opportunity to work with leading experts in the field and gain hands-on experience in a wide range of surgical procedures, including orthopaedic, soft tissue surgery, neurosurgery, and interventional radiology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a determined veterinary surgeon training program under the guidance of experienced mentors.
  • Train and perform a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to orthopaedic, soft tissue, and neurosurgery.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilise advanced surgical technology and equipment such as ICG to provide cutting edge surgical solutions.
  • Participate in rounds, M&M rounds, case discussions, and continuing education activities.

Requirements:

  • Veterinary degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Completion of a rotating or surgical internship or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in research and publications.
  • Strong interest in pursuing advanced surgical training through the ECVS program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
