The University of Central Lancashire is working with local partners to develop a modern and innovative School of Veterinary Medicine on the Preston campus, which will open its doors to welcome the first cohort of students in September 2022.

We are looking for a Planning Administrator to rapidly become a crucial part of the team, to provide support during the planning and development stage of this work and helping to deliver one of the University’s major current priorities.

This versatile role would work collaboratively and flexibly with Faculty staff and professional service colleagues, supporting a variety of operational tasks within the challenging timescales leading up to the opening of the School.

The role would also directly assist the School’s Academic Lead, for example by coordinating schedules, supporting meetings, helping to bring onboard the new team of veterinary academics and assisting in the administration of the course development process.

The successful candidate will be a capable and flexible all-round administrator with good time management, coordination and prioritisation skills. Experience of operationally supporting complex and fast-moving activities in a busy university setting would be a big plus, however it is not necessary for the post-holder to have previous experience in the veterinary profession. This role is provisionally a six month fixed term vacancy.

This post is advertised as a full time position (36.25 hours per week), however applicants wishing to apply for appointment to this role on a part time basis will also be considered.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
