About us
Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital is a family-owned mixed veterinary practice that has experienced huge growth over the past few years in both small animal (dogs and cats) and equine work. We have 2 clinics located in Lilydale and Yarra Glen and an equine facility in Dixons Creek in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Our main hospital is very busy with consulting and surgery and this is where you'll be mostly based. We've been in business for over 30 years and most of our staff have stayed with us for many years and we are hoping that our new receptionist will want that also. While our practice is very busy, we try to maintain a relaxed and low-stress environment as much as possible (good lunches and coffee help this).
Qualifications & experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a customer service role - medical or veterinary reception work or nursing highly advantageous but not critical.

- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the veterinary and equine industry.
- Exceptional organisational abilities are a must for this role. You must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Customer Service - you are responsible for being the "face" of our veterinary practice. This involves greeting and checking out our clients and their pets, telephone reception duties, handling email enquiries and processing payments.
- Organising and keeping track of our busy hospital schedule. Our receptionists need to keep our veterinary staff running to schedule.
- Managing medical records and transferring patient records when required.
- Managing correspondence (email, written and phone calls).
