The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVTHS) in Camperdown is seeking a Receptionist to provide exceptional customer service to Hospital clients, staff and students through the provision of high-level reception, telephony and administrative duties.

To be successful in this position it is essential you have:

• previous experience in a customer service role within the medical or veterinary industry
• excellent client communication and customer service skills including excellent telephone manner
• strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• demonstrated organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• ability to work in a busy environment and cope with the emergency and stressful situations
• proficient use in a range of computer programs (e.g. MS Word or Excel) with proficient data entry and typing skills
• previous experience with banking and reconciliation procedures and medical records information systems
• willingness to work varying rostered shifts as required supporting the UVTHS activities, including weekends and public holidays.

Desirable attributes:

• certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
• certificate in Business Administration
• experience with practice management software ‘Rx Works’ or other veterinary related software

Shifts will include hours between 7am-12am Monday to Sunday. The successful candidate will be required to take part in covering public holidays and weekends as required.
