Are you Hamilton Zoo's new casual Veterinary Program Assistant?
The Hamilton Zoo are looking for two people to join our team as casuals as Veterinary Program Assistants. If you think this could be the role for you - lets talk.
For this role you must have:
- Experience in animal husbandry.
- An understanding of the industry including captive animal management practices.
- The ability to work on a casual roster covering seven days a week between 6am and 5pm.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to enable you to work seamlessly with others and support your team members.
- If you are a qualified Veterinary nurse that would be great, but not essential.
- A love for Zoo animals... of course!
What will you be part of?
Set in over 90 hectares of lush and tranquil surroundings the The Kaaroro Nature Precinct is home to the Hamilton Zoo and Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park. These well-loved community assets play an important role in connecting people with nature and conservation and providing fun experiences that inform a educate visitors.
Day to day your work will be varied! You may be helping in the Nutrition Centre to prepare and order nutritional supplies for our animals, or you may be assisting in the Veterinary Clinic to deliver animal care, or maybe you will be out and about with our rangers and keepers.
