Location: Pomona - Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia
About Us: Sunshine Coast Vets is a small animal practice, located in the beautiful Noosa Hinterland. We are committed to providing exceptional care to our furred and feathered friends whilst supporting and educating their owners, so our patients live long, happy and healthy lives. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding good old-fashioned country service, whilst staying up-to-date with the latest technology. Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a team consisting of two highly experienced Veterinarians and two visiting Veterinarians (one surgical and one medical), 10 support staff consisting of Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Nurse Assistants, Veterinary Receptionist and a Pet Groomer. We pride ourselves on our close knit, supportive working environment and a strong commitment to the local community and surrounding wildlife.
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance & reporting, manage expenses to achieve the business financial goals/objectives.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of veterinary professionals and support staff, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring high morale, ethics and productivity.
- Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the practice, including scheduling, client communications, inventory management, financial administration, equipment maintenance, risk management and facility/building maintenance.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with our services and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
- Staff Development: Train and mentor staff members, promote professional development opportunities and conduct performance evaluations.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations, health and safety standards and practice policies.
- Business Development: Collaborate with veterinarians and owners to develop and implement business strategies for growth and profitability.
- Marketing and Community Outreach: Represent the clinic in community events and professional associations. Foster relationships with local, animal welfare and rescue associations and also with wildlife organisations. Develop and implement marketing strategies to strengthen our brand and reach.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in veterinary management or a related field.
- Proven ability in project management and business development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used in veterinary practice management.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in business management or related fields
- Knowledge of veterinary practices, medical terminology, and animal care.
