Do you have dreams of running your very own Nurse Consultations …?

Maybe you’ve got a Special Interest you want to pursue (Dental…? Anaesthesia…? Diabetes…? Something else…?)

You studied Veterinary Nursing because you dream of offering the highest standards of care possible … of supporting veterinarians in surgery by being an integral team member – you know how to intubate, monitor anaesthesia, put in lines and anticipate exactly what’s needed next without being asked.

You’re fully capable of and thrive in providing professional nurse consultations.   You pride yourself in being at the forefront of veterinary nursing medicine, techniques and skills.  Like this clinic, you take your CPD seriously ($1,000 CPD!)

As well as these professional skills, you’re also adept at handling emergencies with aplomb:  you might be panicking on the inside, but your clients see nothing but compassion, calm and competence.

You’ll have a few years of clinical experience under your belt and will be able to hit the deck running.

About the role:

Hours: Full time at 40 hours/week

Days:  Mon-Fri + occasional Saturday (until noon)

You’ll be experienced in the following:

  • Sole Charge (eg, Nurse Consults, wound care, nail trims, vaccinations, etc)
  • IV catheter placement, IV blood samples, radiographs, bandaging, monitoring anaesthetics
  • perform diagnostic tests and keep records
  • Advanced nursing techniques such as ventilator care
  • feed and exercise animals
  • Communicate patient progress to staff, clients and referral hospitals
  • Post surgery care

This is a small, close knit team where everyone rolls up their sleeves and does what needs to be done.  Yes! The vets have been known to mop the floor here – it’s just how this team rolls.
