PART TIME VETERINARY NURSE REQUIRED (Experience Preferred)
Strathmore Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned 2.5 vet, 6 nurse small animal general practice north of Melbourne.  We are ideally looking for an experienced and/or recently qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our wonderful team.  The position is at least 10 hours a week (Wednesdays 8am to 7pm, with a one hour break) with more shifts available to cover when team members are on leave.

Strathmore Veterinary Clinic is fully equipped with sterile and wet surgical suites, Heska Comprehensive Blood machines (in-house biochemistry, T4, TSH, cortisol and CBC), a range of radiology equipment including the latest DR digital x-ray, dental xray and ultrasound.  We are passionate about continuing education, regularly hosting reps for “lunch and learn” sessions and the clinic has a webinar membership with Vet Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Reception duties, counter sales and administration
• Surgical and Anaesthesia monitoring
• Patient nursing
• Admit and discharge of patients
• Nurse consultations

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Friendly, reliable and self-motivated
• Certificate IV qualified Veterinary Nurse (preferred)
• Proficient in IV catheter placement and blood collection or willing to learn
• Proficient at patient restraint, including the use of low stress handling techniques
• Able to monitor anaesthesia and nurse patients under limited direction or willing to learn
• Have excellent current product knowledge
• Ability to build good rapport with clients, colleagues and businesses
• Have good awareness of team workload, and be able to anticipate the needs of others
• Familiarity with Customer Logic Vet or similar software (preferred, but not essential)
