Location: Mid North Coast, New South Wales

Midcoast Vets is a compassionate independent mixed practice which has been caring for the pets and farms animals in our community for over 30 years. We are a growing practice with 3 clinics (two of which are custom built), and we are lucky to have lots of good equipment; with our newest acquisition a CT scanner installed in our new Macksville clinic. We handle a large variety of cases and support and encourage our team to take on challenging cases.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Undertaking general nursing tasks including pre and post-operative care, pathology, radiology, and care of medical and surgical cases.
  • Assisting vets with surgery, examinations, consultations and treatments
  • Providing high level surgical support, including placing intravenous catheters, inducing anaesthetic, intubating surgery patients, clipping/prepping animals for surgery, monitoring anaesthetic, intravenous fluids etc
  • Performing routine diagnostic medical and laboratory tests and minor procedures.
  • Caring for, handling and cleaning animals.
  • Delivering personalised and exceptional client and patient care.
  • Maintaining overall hygiene of the clinic including surgical areas and equipment.

 

 

Key Skills we are looking

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent qualification) with minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Proven ability to provide client and patient care and high level clinical support to our veterinary team
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Well developed time management and organisational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Confidence and drive to continue to learn and grow skillset
