The Opportunity
IDEXX is currently looking to add to our laboratory team with Science/Medical fresh grads or 1-2 year's experienced casual/part-time individuals as a Veterinary Laboratory Technician. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate to work within our cross-functional laboratory in Hamilton, New Zealand for around $24.84/hour! (Relocating? IDEXX may be able to assist!)
Based in our modern, purpose-built laboratory, you would be joining a global market leader in a role focused on the provision of high-quality and timely diagnostic testing services; assaying and processing a wide variety of samples for routine and complex pathology investigation.
Who we are looking for:
- You will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant medical discipline and (or) a fresh grad to minimum 2 years' experience in a veterinary, commercial, or human diagnostics laboratory environment.
- Experience in a range of Laboratory testing disciplines is preferable, skills in Microbiology, Serology, and/or Anatomical Pathology will be advantageous (not essential)
- You will have a strong understanding of all aspects of accredited laboratory operations, including a broad knowledge of multi-disciplinary diagnostic pathology testing procedures, and a demonstrated ability to perform routine and complex diagnostic tests independently, while ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, policies and practices.
- The successful candidate will be looking to take responsibility for laboratory operations within their area, and willing to contribute their expertise to the training, compliance and the service delivery needs of IDEXX and its clients.
- You will be computer savvy and may have exposure to a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- You will be confident operating under pressure and time constraints without compromising on quality control procedures and practices.
- If you built your skillset in a human diagnostics laboratory you will find they transfer readily to this role.
