The Opportunity

We are currently seeking motivated Veterinary Laboratory Scientist to join our diagnostic laboratory in Brisbane in a full-time permanent capacity. Working as a member of a multidisciplinary team, you – as the successful hire, will ensure the provision of high-quality, efficient, effective, and timely diagnostic testing services for the IDEXX Reference Laboratories.

The Veterinary Laboratory Scientist will apply professional knowledge in serology investigations, exercising professional judgement in interpretation, verification, laboratory analyses, tests and validation of the results. The Veterinary Laboratory Scientist will ensure that IDEXX Reference Laboratories operate at the highest level of accuracy by performing and acting upon quality control procedures – setting up instruments, preparing, running, interpreting, and releasing results while troubleshooting their performance, in compliance with NATA and ISO accreditation/certification requirements.

The Veterinary Laboratory Scientist will perform equipment maintenance and validation, will revise and review documentation such as SOPs, will assist with the completion and identification of lean initiatives and continuous improvements.

The Successful candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor of Medical Science/or equivalent degree.
• Min 1-3 years’ experience within a lab setting – preferred but not essential.
• Experience within an immunology laboratory is highly desirable
• PC & data entry skills are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to policies and practices.
• Experience in operating efficiently and effectively to meet tight turnaround times in a commercial lab environment.
• A passion for providing exceptional customer service
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
