About the job

Aorangi Vets is searching for an all-rounder to slot into our motivated clinic team.  This fun, varied role will require the following skills:

• Excellence in customer service
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of rural customer needs & farming practices preferred
• Computer Literacy & solid admin skills
• Strong sense of self-initiative and ability to self-manage
• An enthusiastic approach, plus a willingness to learn and take on responsibility
• A supportive team player
• Ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure and be detail orientated
• A mature, hands-on, can-do attitude, and a high level of confidentiality
• Animal handling experience and skills would be a bonus (e.g. vet nursing or vet technician experience)

 

What the role requires

General reception & clinic duties (with training provided) which involves;

• Managing phone calls and booking consults, surgery appointments and farm calls
• Maintaining our high level of customer service both face-to-face and over the phone
• Making retail sales
• Product advice for farm and companion animals
• Computer data entry and general administration
• Stock ordering and management
• Keeping the clinic clean and presentable
• Assisting when required with companion animal patients
• Some general vet nurse duties

 

We see this job as being full time, but we would consider a job share and flexibility for the right candidate(s). Regular clinic hours are 8:00 am until 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00 am until 12:00 pm Saturday (worked on a rostered basis).

Remuneration is competitive and negotiable, based upon experience, skill set, and ability.
