About the role
Biodiversity Australia is seeking an Airside Wildlife Management Officer (WMO) to fulfil the duties within the SEQ region, with most work based at Amberley.
We are looking for a Wildlife Biologist with aviation focus or someone with experience as an ARO or WMO. The successful applicant will receive internal training and be fully supported by technical staff and resources.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Active management of wildlife airside
- Data collection and management
- Client liaison
- Meeting and contributing to high company ethics and safety standards
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in understanding wildlife behaviour;
- Appropriate field experience demonstrating high situational awareness relatable to operations airside and around aircraft; Desirable
- Experience and/or confidence with radio communications (ideally VHF, in relation to Ground and Tower);
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer or Work Safety Officer qualification - Desirable;
- General Construction Induction Card (white card);
- Firearms License (Cat A&B) – Highly desirable but not necessary
- Ability to apply for and receive an Aviation Security Identification Card (Police check required).
- Must be Australian Citizen
