About us

Boongarry is a busy, privately owned practice in Far North Queensland, dedicated exclusively to avian, reptile, exotic pet, and wildlife patients. You will be joining our team in providing quality veterinary care for a very diverse range of species and delivering exceptional customer service for our clients. Our practice has a strong education; and wildlife health and conservation focus that is promoted through clinic-run training workshops and information sessions. Boongarry is an active sentinel clinic for Wildlife Health Australia.

Our regional demographic and varied caseload offers a perfect opportunity for learning and expanding your skillset within the workplace.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical practice, including at least one year in avian, reptile, exotics or wildlife practice
  • Memberships in Avian Health, Zoo or Wildlife Medicine or Unusual and Exotic Pet Medicine, or intention to sit in one of these Chapters, highly desirable
  • Ability to work in sole charge, supported by the principal and intern, with the focus on pet avian, reptile and exotics practice management
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; and an ability to multitask whilst working efficiently both individually and within a team environment
  • Willingness to contribute to afterhours work, including team and client training, additionally rostered duties if required
  • Commitment to 35-38 hours per standard week
  • Enthusiasm for learning and continuing development
