Introduction:
Greenwood Academy, operated by Enlighten Talent Pty Ltd, is a prominent RTO and CRICOS provider based in Sydney's Central Business District. Dedicated to advancing education in Animal Care and Agriculture, we are introducing the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and are in search of an experienced Veterinarian to guide our students during their practical placements.

 

Role Overview:
This pivotal role involves mentoring veterinary nursing students in their practical placements within small animal clinics, ensuring adherence to the latest industry standards and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional familiar with the nuances of small animal care and passionate about fostering the next generation of veterinary professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Supervision and Mentorship: Oversee the practical training of veterinary nursing students, ensuring all procedures are performed to the highest standard.
- Regulatory Compliance and Administrative Duties: Ensure all practices comply with relevant local laws and regulations, including WHS, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, Animal Ethics, and the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator.
- Student Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student performance, provide detailed feedback, and maintain accurate records of their competencies and progress.
- Communication and Relationship Management: Manage communications effectively across all levels of the organization, addressing sensitive matters with diplomacy and professionalism.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
- Required Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), or equivalent.
- Professional Registration: Must have current registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of New South Wales.
- Clinical Experience: Extensive experience in a small animal veterinary clinic is essential, with a strong emphasis on recent industry practices.
- Understanding of Compliance Requirements: A thorough knowledge of compliance and administrative responsibilities relevant to veterinary practices in NSW.
