Description
As our Veterinarian Pathologist, you will strive for excellence in diagnostics to improve animal health and support animal biosecurity risk management to protect and enhance animal biosecurity in Queensland. Your efforts will be integral in helping the government prevent, respond to, and recover from animal biosecurity concerns that threaten our environment and economy.
You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:
- apply knowledge and skills in veterinary pathology to facilitate the efficient delivery of veterinary diagnostics
- can manage your own work priorities, ensuring assigned tasks are undertaken promptly and meet agreed timeframes
- are actively contributing as a member of a dedicated and high-performing team.
Biosecurity Queensland (BQ) is one of the integral DAF business groups, leading the government's efforts to prevent, respond to and recover from pests and diseases threating agricultural prosperity, the environment, social amenity and human health. We achieve this by maintaining access to markets, protecting animal welfare and reducing the risk of contamination from agricultural management.
Animal Biosecurity and Welfare (ABW) supports BQ's efforts to prevent, respond to and recover from diseases threatening livestock industries and maintaining access to market. Our people work together to help mitigate biosecurity risks, uphold standards for animal welfare and animal management and lead the overall DAF response to biosecurity emergency incidents to achieve outcomes consistent with the Department's strategic direction for leadership in animal welfare, exhibited animal, animal management and animal ethics policy and service delivery.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
