We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly nurse to join our team at Menai Animal Hospital
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team. Our practice offers a wide range of veterinary services, including breeding support, orthopedic and eye surgeries, as well as comprehensive care for a diverse group of animals, including dogs, cats, pocket pets, and reptiles.
About you
- Enthusiastic and honest
- Willing to learn and be trained
- Willing to work as a team and on your own
- Good people skills, our nurses play a large roll in our consults, the ability to converse with clients is important, both face to face and on phone.
- Confidence in handling animals, or a willingness to learn
- Time management and organisational skills
- Has completed a cert 4 in vet nursing, or currently studying (we will also accept applications from those studying other animal-based degrees)
- Willing to work Saturday mornings
- Happy and cheerful demeanour
About the roll
- Shifts at our clinic run from 8am-3pm and 2:30pm- 7:30pm and 8am-12pm on Saturdays.
- We run nurse run consults at our clinic, meaning the nurse starts the consult and then the vet comes and joins in. People skills are a must. Nurses do a lot of animal care and demonstrating how to do things for pets.
- Reception duties. We do not have a receptionist, so our nurses are also in charge of answering phones, organising client accounts and making bookings
- Tending to boarders and hospital patients
- Monitoring surgeries and recovery
- Handling discharges and admits
