DREAM JOB - NEWCASTLE NSW

Would you like to work in a new purpose built Vet Hospital recently re-accredited as a “Hospital of Excellence”, with a vast array of modern equipment, in a city voted in Lonely Planet’s top 10 in the world, surrounded by superb beaches, cafes and nightlife.

Most importantly you would join a very easy going team with a high priority on work flexibility and a great work-life balance. The best way to judge the culture of a practice is to look at the staff turnover and the only reason we rehire is due to either retirement or pregnancy (any cures?).

Due to practice growth an exciting opportunity has become available at Mayfield Veterinary Hospital for a full time or part time small animal vet to join our team of 6 experienced vets supported by 20 nursing staff.

We encourage and provide opportunities for continued education both professionally and personal self development, including one week study leave plus 4 weeks annual holiday. NO AFTER HOURS, closed public holidays, open Saturday's (position requires working 1 in 4) & also open Sunday's, but this shift is currently filled. 4 & 1/2 days Monday to Friday available, with the option for part time available also.

Our purpose built Hospital has 4 consulting rooms, separate cat and dog wards (sound proof glass), separate imaging rooms for ultrasound and digital radiography, as well as dental x-ray. Sunlit treatment room, separate lab and pharmacy. We also have a small branch clinic next to the beach at Stockton as well as Georgetown.

“Hospital of Excellence” is the highest accreditation for Vet Hospitals; for practices that achieve the highest level of quality health care and practice management in innovative, state-of-the-art hospital facilities. We would expect the successful applicant to meet these expectations.

We are looking for

  • An enthusiastic, social person who likes to get to know their clientele, being able to build and foster relationships.
  • An advocate for the pets, able to provide the gold standard treatment.
  • Ability to work with and build a great positive team environment ensuring team work is the norm

Generous wage depending on experience and skill level.

You would be surprised how much vets can make during these Covid times!
