We are looking for a dynamic veterinarian to join our Ballarat Pet and Farm Vet Team. Whether you are experienced or just starting out in your Vet career as a Graduate, we would love to hear from you.Your main base will be Ballarat, however on occasion, you may be required to support our Delacombe team, as required.Priding ourselves on providing the highest quality animal care, this is accompanied by the highest quality pet food, accessories, and pet services.It's an exciting time for us! With our Ballarat Pet & Farm clinic, you will be joining a vibrant, fun, family orientated team. We work closely with the PETstock Retail team who are always eager to help your customers with any retail purchases, allowing you to focus on providing excellent clinical medicine. In our busy, fun practice, it's not unusual for Puppy School puppies to come rolling past...cuddles galore!Being co-located within PETstock stores, means you will see your patients more than just once a year, with them stopping in for a chat or a pat whenever they come into the store.Our hospitals are purpose built and fitted with brand new equipment. You will feel very supported by our Vet Operations Support Office Team, who are all vets and nurses themselves....they understand, knowing the ins and outs. As a Vet with us, you will be:
- Treating animals medically and surgically, and administering and prescribing drugs, analgesics, and general and local anesthetics
- Determining the presence and nature of abnormal conditions by physical examination, laboratory testing and through diagnostic imaging techniques including radiography and ultrasound
- Performing surgery, dressing wounds and setting broken bones
- Rendering obstetric services to animals
- Participating in programs designed to prevent the occurrence and spread of animal diseases
- Inoculating animals against, and testing for, infectious diseases and notifying authorities of outbreaks of infectious animal diseases
- Performing autopsies to determine cause of death
- Advising clients on health, nutrition and feeding, hygiene, breeding and care of animals
- Providing professional services to commercial firms producing biological and pharmaceutical products
- Maybe specialise in the treatment of a particular animal group or in a particular specialty area such as cardiology, chiropractic, dermatology or critical care
