Description

This is a newly created role which will require input from the successful candidate. The L&D Nurse Coordinator will oversee, coordinate and deliver the clinical aspects of our Animal Attendant and Nurse progression for both Emergency and Referral services. From the recruitment of the required skill base, to the ongoing learning needs of our most experienced nursing team members.

The L&D Coordinator will oversee clinical nursing processes, procedures and policies, with a goal of achieving gold standard clinical care and peace of mind. With best clinical practice, our hospital systems will work smoothly, efficiently and maximising capacity. Our nursing team will be aware and engaged in their ongoing learning and career pathways, utilising internal and external resources.

 

Operational tasks

  • Conduct clinical skills training on shift
  • Coordinate and deliver internal and external nurse training events
  • Oversee nursing staff performing their duties as per job descriptions – including workflow efficiencies
  • Complete & maintain operational reports, assessments and documentation,
  • Proficiently & proactively utilize IT platforms and systems with a capacity to build, improve and update learning modules in Sharepoint and other Microsoft 365 product suite
  • Liaise with a range of stakeholders including; People & Culture Manager, Vet Director, CEO
  • Plan and execute Annual Training modules according to the need of individuals and the business. This will include annual training & assessments for experienced team members & those returning to work after long absences such as maternity leave and injury.
  • Demonstrate a ROI of learning & development activities – both through planning and review
  • Assist with the development, implementation and training of nurse training materials and resources
  • Execute this to floor staff through clinical policies, procedures and planned training programs

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Vet Nursing
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience including Emergency and Critical Care and ideally Specialist areas
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment preferred
  • Vet Nurse Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care preferred
  • Experience in group facilitation

The Nursing L&D Coordinator will report to the Practice Manager. You will be expected to work across a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, Public Holidays and evenings up until midnight. (Overnights are not required). This is a full time, salaried role & package in line with experience and qualifications.
