We are Companion Vets, and our purpose is pets!!!
We are a modern clinic in Hamilton with excellent facilities and all mod cons where we delight in caring for companion animals.
We have a wonderful, experienced team of vets and tertiary trained nurses. Since opening in 2020 we have grown significantly, and we are looking for another nurse to join us.
Nurses play an incredibly important role in the well being of pets. Our aim is to make the most of all our nurses’ skills and talents. We want to provide an interesting and stimulating work environment and give our nurses the right opportunities at the right time to help them grow in their careers.
We love our clients and their pets – and they love us! Part of your role will involve interacting with clients and their pets and it is important to us that you are comfortable doing that.

What We’re Looking For:
- A tertiary trained and registered Veterinary Nurse with 2+ years’ experience
- A friendly, approachable attitude and the ability to work as part of a team
- A strong commitment to providing the highest standard of care
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of anaesthetics, surgical procedures, and medical nursing
- Amazing interpersonal skill as well as empathy and emotional intelligence
- Excellent numerical and written skills
- Courage, agility, flexibility, and a sense of fun
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand

The clinic is open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am to 12:30pm on Saturdays. Your shifts will vary to cover these hours and will include some Saturday morning shifts (with afternoon off in the following week).
We are fortunate to have an afterhours service in Hamilton so on-call work is very rare.
And when possible, we are closed over long weekends.
