Wildlife Victoria is searching for a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to project delivery and a commitment to great learning experiences.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of Volunteer Engagement, the Training Development Advisor is a training and development expert who will deliver two organisational priorities. The first is to co-drive a new pilot program to train up experienced wildlife volunteers as trainers of new rescue and transport recruits, providing content analysis, workshop facilitation and support to new trainers. The second is to provide analysis and advice on the current and future state of Wildlife Victoria’s volunteer training and development pathways. Culminating in a final report to the executive, you will engage with stakeholders across the organisation to re-imagine the existing program and present a plan which takes Wildlife Victoria’s volunteer training proposition to the next level.
Contract
This is a 9 month, full-time contract with the possibility to extend
Responsibilities
- consultation with heads of staff, employees and volunteers to review Wildlife Victoria’s volunteer training program pathway
- final report with recommendations for the transformation of Wildlife Victoria’s training program and development pathway including training content, volunteer development pathways, best practice delivery including learning management system and assistive technology, team structure and resourcing.
- recruitment of volunteer trainers
- design of new recruit screening methods
- content and delivery review of the Basic Rescue and Transport Training
- event planning and co-delivery of the Train-the-Trainer event in Melbourne
- training events support to new trainers both remote and in-person (scheduled)
Essential Criteria
Demonstrated experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in similar roles
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 (equivalent or higher)
- both face-to-face classroom content and eLearning content development
- reporting and measuring the impact of L&D activities
- high level reporting and advice to decision-makers
- high level consultation and internal stakeholder engagement
- training delivery, facilitation or presentation skills
Desirable Experience
- work with volunteers
- work in emergency services
- experience with LMS, content creation systems, SCORM packages & associated tools

Availability
This role requires:
- travel within Victoria (preferable use of own vehicle, kms reimbursed)
