We do this via three very important streams of work; in our Animal Hospital and Vet Clinic by providing exceptional veterinary care and preserving the human-animal bond irrespective of a person’s circumstance; in our Adoption Centre by providing sanctuary, rehabilitation, welfare and a new home for animals; and through our Community Outreach programs by promoting responsible pet ownership and nurturing the human-animal bond.

About the role:
We are currently searching for a permanent full-time Theatre Technician to join our wonderful team of dedicated and passionate people. In this role, you will be working in a tight-knit, supportive team of dedicated nurses and vets in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to work collaboratively with fellow team members will be second-to-none. You will be joining Australia’s largest not-for-profit animal hospital that is committed to the health and wellbeing of animals.

 
Duties include:

  • maintain records of equipment on backorder or off for repair
  • ensure clinical standards in instrument and equipment sterilisation and technique are met
  • maintain a high level of care and cleanliness of all theatre equipment
  • assist in developing and improving protocols relevant to theatre nursing duties
  • training of general nursing staff in prep and sterilisation of equipment
  • clean and restock theatre areas

 

About you:

  • Certificate IV Qualifications as a veterinary nurse (or equivalent)
  • minimum of two years' theatre nursing experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment
  • exceptional animal and client care standards
  • strong organisation and communication skills
  • a flexible, friendly and positive attitude
  • Ability to work a roster which may involve day, evening, weekend and public holiday shifts.
