Reporting to the Regional Sales and Key Account Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for a Territory Manager to cover the Hawkes Bay, Gisborne territory. Ideal candidate should be located centrally within this area which includes Napier / Hastings.
 
The Role:
 
  • Attain set sales targets through canvassing and promotional/merchandise activities with farmers, veterinarians and where applicable, Government farming departments
  • Optimise use of financial resources while attaining sales targets within approved territory expense limits. Investigate and where appropriate propose the allocation of expense provisions in order to attain sales targets
  • Customer relationships – maintain and develop professional relationships with all customers, responsible for key accounts including Business Plan preparation for key customers. Conduct regular customer staff training on Boehringer Ingelheim’s products
  • Reporting – Keep management informed by completion of Weekly Competitor Report, Weekly Territory Report, in depth itinerary planning and other reports as requested
  • Administration – Submit or maintain expense reports, sales records, end user farmer call records containing accurate details of individual farmer stock levels and management practises and canvassing reports
  • Utilisation of Boehringer Ingelheim’s CRM system as key administrative tool, ensure that CRM is fully utilized to maximize sales
  • Territory planning – analyse sales potential by customer category, allocate resources accordingly and constructively plan time and company vehicle usage
  • Understand the farming cycle, be able to present to farming groups on our product range and be able to actively demonstrate the application of our products on farm
  • Maintain ethical business standards for all promotional and selling activities. Ensure Boehringer Ingelheim’s products are sold according with company policy and ensure maintenance of all company property in keeping with good business practices
 
What you will have:
 
  • Relevant tertiary education advantageous
  • Prior experience in the Animal health industry, or related Agricultural industry experience
  • Strong understanding of NZ farming systems (Dairy, Sheep & Beef) & a good understanding of the farming calendar
  • Previous sales experience & proven customer relationship building experience
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite of products & CRM systems
