THE POSITION
This is a great opportunity for veterinarians in clinical practice looking for a change and transition into an industry role.
To improve sales through the provision of technical support liaison for our internal team, the sales field force and external customers for the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health companion animal, including equine, product range.
The role will be an active contributor to the success of the business by assisting in the promotion of our products at a distribution and end user level.
The role is open to applications from other locations in New Zealand. The role does require travel throughout the country for product and educational training.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Provide sales support and technical services liaison to the field force, providing comprehensive technical information and promotion of the company and the use of the company’s companion animal products. This includes product training and product detailing to veterinarians, veterinary staff and other reseller staff and overseeing the conduct of market support trials.
- Provide technical advice and approval on promotional literature and advertisements, and write technical bulletins and articles for customers and newsletters etc.
- Answer technical enquiries
- Investigate customer complaints related to product and animal health. Investigate, record and report through the pharmacovigilance system, all suspected adverse reactions
- Ensure compliance with our pharmacovigilance requirements as determined by Global PV
- Liaise with BI Global and Bi Australia locally, especially with technical, pharmacovigilance and customer solutions teams
- Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and Key/Strategic Accounts
- Recognize and advise on opportunities and developments in the market-place and in the veterinary profession
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in veterinary science
- Current VCNZ Practicing Certificate
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in companion animal veterinary practice.
- Preferably with experience and skills in presentation for product and education training
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Excellent communications skills
- Excellent phone manner
- Passion for achieving great outcomes when dealing with all levels of customers
- The ability to travel is a requirement of this role
