The Technical and Customer Support (TACS) Veterinarian will add value to our customers by responding to inbound customer enquiries and complaints for Elanco Animal Health and ensure that any adverse events or product quality concerns are reported in line with Elanco’s pharmacovigilance policies. You’ll also assist the wider business in the provision of world class veterinary and technical support to external and internal stakeholders. Your ability to assist, educate and influence the business on disease state and technical aspects of our brands will ensure they can better address customers’ needs.
As a TACS Veterinarian, you will do the following:
Technical Support
Provision of technical product support to Elanco staff and external customers.
- Respond to internal & external customer technical enquiries, adverse events and product complaints for the entire Elanco Animal Health portfolio.
- Coach Sales Representatives and TACS consultants on technical knowledge where examinations or other feedback identify knowledge gaps.
- Develop, review and update Product technical materials to support the TACS consultants in provision of accurate, high quality and timely technical support to external customers.
- Assist in the management of product materials provided to SafetyCall International (SCI), Elanco’s out of hours technical support provider. Including development and review of product FAQs for their use.
- Deliver technical training updates for the business at conferences and events.
- Deliver technical product training in the field to various customer groups.
- Review advertising and promotional materials for technical accuracy.
- Provide technical support and input to sales and marketing activities.
- Provide detailed technical analysis of new and existing competitor products.
- Attend key internal and external meetings within Australia.
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge through self-study, review of literature and attendance at relevant conferences.
Pharmacovigilance
Technically manage Adverse Events (AEs) and customer complaints within the Elanco product portfolio as required, ensuring all pharmacovigilance requirements are met.
- Capture and report adverse event (AE) and product complaint (PC) data in line with Elanco pharmacovigilance (PhV) guidelines.
- Ensure thorough investigation of any complaints received, including escalation for authorisation of further diagnostics as warranted by the case and follow up on escalated cases.
- Analyse each case received and assign appropriate PhV causality determination and Veddra terms for Global and PhV.
- Carry out second person verification on any complaints requiring transcription as required.
- Ensure follow up on complaints received as appropriate to ensure case closure.
- Assist with the development and update of Product AE Handling Guides.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal and ethical standards and company policies.
Basic Qualifications required:
- Veterinary science degree.
- Registered as a veterinary surgeon in Australia.
- Current Australian driving licence.
- Min. 1 year of experience in companion animal veterinary practice essential
- Veterinary/technical experience in the animal health industry
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in Australia. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status for this employment position.

Additional Information:
Work Locations: Primary location for this position is Macquarie Park, NSW, with ability to work flexibly and remotely in agreement with your manager.
Worker Type: Flexible = 3 days Work From Home, 2 days on-site.
Travel: Approx. 10% travel component to this role both in field with the sales team and to attend company and industry conferences as required.
