The primary responsibility of the Technical Advisor, Swine (AUS) is to provide first class technical support to external and internal customers of our company’s Swine Business.
The Technical Advisor, Swine sits within the Animal Health organization and reports to the Technical Marketing Manager - Swine.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
- Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is regular contact with pig industry veterinarians, business managers, farmers, distribution outlets and end users of our products, government departments, universities. This will be achieved through customer visits and attendance at meetings/conferences/seminars, etc.
- Representation of the company and its interests to pig industry stakeholders and key opinion leaders is an important part of the role, as our company’s Animal Health values and builds trusting customer and end-user relationships.
- As a key member of the Swine Business Unit you will contribute to achieve the annual sales budget.
- You will also be required to contribute to the development of technical marketing material and assist with the technical marketing strategies for the Swine Business Unit.
- The role also requires you to develop and implement effective product/industry training programs for appropriate staff and customers.
- At times liaison with regulatory and R&D departments is required to achieve common objectives, as is the monitoring of post registration product performance.
What You Must have
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) preferred but candidates with an Animal Science or similar degree and other outstanding qualifications and experiences will also be considered. Post-Graduate qualification including Master Degrees or PhD and Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment would be highly considered.
- Previous experience with a commercial animal health company in the swine business unit or in the Australian swine industry would be highly considered.
- Exceptional understanding of swine production systems in Australia.
- Commercial focus and ability to identify business opportunities, establish and maintain business relationships for the organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations and training.
- Ability to build internal and external networks.
- Outstanding ability to analyse numerical and technical data from a range of sources to produce solutions. Sound logical problem-solving approach.
- Good management skills including time management, objective setting and budget awareness.
