Animal Emergency Service

 

Animal Emergency Service is a busy and progressive group of Veterinary practices that provide 24-hour care to pets and wildlife. AES has built a reputation for high quality, emergency veterinary care for animals.

Our Team Development Manager role is responsible for our Brisbane region (Underwood and Jindalee practice locations) and is essential in delivering our employee experience and leadership development goals. The role is newly created and part time, ideally working in the range of 24-32 hrs per wk.

Your objective is to create an environment in which our team members thrive, develop their careers and delight our clients and patients. This role works across the business to drive outcomes, align with business goals, mitigate risk and deliver value. Experience with human resources and team leadership is critical, as well as experience in collaboration, great communication and management of operational elements.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and coaching our team to meet our operational needs
  • Diagnosing pain points for teams and improving their workplace experience
  • Coaching and mentoring our department managers and senior team members
  • Team capability, training and resourcing
  • Performance management
  • Workforce planning
  • Driving initiative within the leadership team and organisationally that contributes to long-term operational excellence
  • Operational support, guidance and problem solving

 

We would like you to have:

  • At least 5 year’s experience in management of small to medium teams.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in human resources, including the confidence to handle difficult conversations and negotiations.
  • Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be comfortable, calm and offer solutions whilst operating with ambiguity in a demanding and fast paced environment.
  • Desire to support continuous improvement in administrative operations.
  • A strong work ethic with a professional and friendly manner.
  • A high level of dependability in all aspects of the job, and the ability to take accountability for actions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with diplomacy, openness and honesty.
  • A motivation for continuous self and team learning.
  • A desire to provide exceptional customer service, where nothing is a problem.
  • Empathy for others and a love of animals.
