Description

Teaching Fellow in Veterinary Sciences and Education

The positions will be within the Department of Veterinary Preclinical Sciences, part of the School of Veterinary Medicine in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

The University's ethos is based upon a belief in our ability to make a difference to the world - to have a positive impact through our free-thinking and hard work. We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and the endeavors of every employee. Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

We are currently seeking applications from exceptional individuals with expertise in veterinary sciences to deliver our ambitions to expand and develop our provision of innovative veterinary science-related education. The University of Surrey offers excellent facilities within which to advance your teaching and the opportunity to undertake pedagogical research with the department of higher education.

You will have either an MSc or PhD level or be MRCVS with an appropriate post-qualification experience. The successful candidate will develop and deliver veterinary preclinical sciences and selected clinical sciences teaching in the veterinary programme. This can involve lecture delivery, case base session, practical demonstrations, clinical skill teaching, PBL etc. The candidate will also be involved in academic administrative duties and will support other research active academics where appropriate. There is an expectation that the candidate will be involved in pedagogical research in consultation with their line manager. They should be able to take an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work and be used to delivering to meet tight deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to play a leading role in helping shape the University’s new veterinary programme and to develop the veterinary pharmacology and therapeutics component of our integrated programme.

In addition to competitive salary package, you will receive a generous annual leave entitlement, development opportunities, an award-winning pension scheme, child care assistance, relocation assistance (where applicable) and discounted membership to our world-renown Surrey Sports Park.
