An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced veterinary surgeon (MRCVS) with a passion for inspiring undergraduate students in all aspects of small animal medicine. Experienced clinicians who wish to move into education and develop their teaching expertise within a multidisciplinary department are encouraged to apply.
The primary focus of the role will be to support the clinical teaching in years three and four, preparing our students for their final year rotations. The role will have a strong focus on small group practical teaching, alongside lectures and tutorials. There may be a requirement to travel to our offsite partners.
A teaching qualification is not essential but prior experience of teaching veterinary undergraduates would be an advantage. Support to complete a postgraduate certificate in education will be given to successful candidates. Those with extensive experience of supporting new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
Enthusiasm, adaptability and creativity are essential, alongside excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
In return we offer a generous salary with a 10% salary uplift for MRCVS registered applicants, pension, relocation assistance, flexible working options including job share, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.
We will consider applications from those interested in both full time and part time opportunities.
The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We value everyone in our community and are seeking to increase the diversity. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities.
