Description
Are you an enthusiastic equine clinician, looking for new challenges, and to explore whether a career in veterinary education might be for you?
We have a fixed term maternity cover post (0.8FTE) available for an equine veterinary surgeon who can use their experience, knowledge and skills to help inspire and train undergraduate students in all aspects of equine clinical practice.
Successful candidates will bring a strong understanding and experience of equine clinical practice, to complement existing staff in their ability to deliver high quality teaching and assessment across the veterinary programme. Their primary focus would be third- and fourth-year students: teaching the theory and training the practical skills essential for an equine clinician from day one.
Enthusiasm, adaptability and creativity are essential, alongside excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Experience of teaching and mentoring would be an advantage.
In return we offer a generous salary with a 10% salary uplift for MRCVS registered applicants, pension, relocation assistance, flexible working options including job share, access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.
The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We value everyone in our community and are seeking to increase the diversity. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities.
