Harper Adams University seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic animal scientist to join the team to support both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the department, and research at the university. The role will predominantly focus on the delivery of modules associated with all animal science programmes.

 

The successful candidate will be required to support delivery around, but not limited to the following subject areas:

• Animal Biology
• Animal Health
• Animal husbandry and Management
• Evolution, genetics and Behaviour
• Introduction to animal welfare and ethics
• Skills for the animal scientist

Key qualifications, skills and experience required.

 

Essential:

• A relevant first degree such as Animal Science, Animal Biology, Zoology or Bioveterinary Science
• Experience of participation in the delivery of teaching, preferably at Higher Education level.
• Competence in handling a range of animals across both small and large species.
• Appropriate role related knowledge and skills.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills, appropriate to engage a range of audiences.
• The ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously as the needs demand

 

Desirable:

• A higher degree in a relevant subject or working towards this.
• A relevant teaching qualification and/or fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), or working towards this
• Experience of assessing undergraduates in higher education
• Knowledge transfer or research-related publication
