About the role:
The role of the Teacher Animal Sciences covers a variety of responsibilities and activities within the sector, including:
- classroom based teaching;
- teaching via video conferencing;
- practical skills training in simulated workplace environments;
- engaging with students and their employers in the workplace;
- supporting students and employers with their workforce and career development needs;
- showcasing careers and associated education pathways to community, schools and industry.
Mandatory requirements:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent (if not held on commencement, qualification must be completed within agreed timeframe);
- Minimum Certificate III in Animal Studies or Companion Animal Services or any animal husbandry related studies;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the animal care industry working with cats/dogs and/or native animals;
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police check (no older than 12 months)
- Current COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
- A six month probationary period applies to this position.
If you currently don’t have the minimum required teaching qualifications, yet you have extensive industry experience and associated qualifications, TAFE Gippsland will consider your application but you must meet all other criteria shown in the Job Description.
