ROLE and CANDIDATE REQUIREMENT

A most exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced orthopaedic surgeon to join our Southend 24h hospital in Essex.

A Surgery Certificate holder, or residency trained individual is required. Your role will include care and treatment of outpatients and inpatients orthopaedic/neuro-surgical cases. Soft tissue surgery would also be advantageous but not mandatory. The primary focus of the role is for our orhopaedic patients. This is a surgical only position with no requirement for routine first opinion consults.

We are looking for a kind, empathetic person, a dedicated team player who is eager to share her or his knowledge and liaise with our colleagues from other branches in the region.

 

SALARY and HOURS:

This is a Full-time position - 39h/week, Monday-Friday over 4 or 5 days, we are flexible.

Total package: £80,000-95,000 depending on experience (this includes £7,800 housing allowance, vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance). £1,500 and 3 days CPD allowance, but can accommodate more for the right candidate. RCVS, BVA, VDS fees paid. 5 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

 

The Branch

BRANCH

Southend 24h is a busy hospital, taking cases from all branches in the region.  It is a bright, spacious hospital, complete with  2 operating theatres, digital x-ray, ultrasound, bronchoscope and endoscope, including rigid for arthroscopies, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser. We have a CT scan on-site with the dedicated nurse to run it, a dedicated ultrasonographer/imaging vet (about 7-10 scans each day), generating plenty of potential surgical cases following advanced imaging.

We also have dedicated night teams, ensuring continuity of care.
