QVS is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist hospital in Brisbane, based across two sites at Stafford and North Lakes. We are a diverse group of specialists, technicians and support members (numbering over 150) that work in a jovial, cohesive and enjoyable environment. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, theriogenology, dermatology, dental and cardiology, with plans to expand beyond this.
The Role: Full-time
Working across both hospitals, you will support the energetic and passionate medicine and surgical nursing teams. The role will involve all aspects of patient care. Surgically, we perform an array of advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic services, working with high end specialised equipment, from multi theatre buildings. There would be some exposure to other disciplines within the hospital such as reproduction, dermatology, oncology and emergency.
QVS has state of the art diagnostic tools including x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, endoscopy and all the latest laboratory equipment. In December we will move into our new facility in Stafford, which will be the largest purpose-built hospital in SE Queensland.

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience post qualifications of Veterinary Nursing.
- A passion for providing excellent patient care, a desire to work as part of a team and a drive for professional development.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in practical application of veterinary nursing procedures.
- Confidence in monitoring anaesthesia.
- A friendly, easy going nature and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently provide a high quality of patient care even in busy conditions.
Desirable Criteria (not mandatory):
- Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Emergency and Critical Care) or similar.
- Experience in an emergency or specialist hospital.
- Knowledge of Cornerstone and IDEXX blood machines desirable but not essential.
Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
