This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our small, personal, and family-owned specialists centre. Our dedicated pet care team provides quality veterinary medicine in a kind, comfortable, and safe environment. You will ensure that all pet owners and their pets receive an excellent experience at our clinic.

This unique role requires vital customer service and problem-solving skills. A good understanding of systems such as RX Works will be advantageous, as well as outstanding computer skills. We encourage candidates who enjoy working in a family-driven environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner
- Answer the telephone courteously and professionally and convey messages in writing, verbally, and electronically.
- Make all pets welcome and comfortable.
- Invoicing patient visits and receipting payments
- Schedule appointments, when necessary, from callers or visitors to the practice.
- Greet all visitors to the clinic; greet clients and patients by name as they arrive for appointments and notify the Veterinarian when they arrive. Monitor wait times and make accommodations as necessary during peak/busy times or when medical staff is dealing with an emergency.
- Participate in training new staff members and general dissemination of knowledge as required.
- Ensure that the waiting area and consult rooms are consistently cleaned
- Confirm all appointments by client's preferred communication method (phone, email, text) the previous day and make necessary adjustments.
- Possess an advanced understanding of practice logistical specifics to provide backup support to staff
Essential Criteria:
- Must have at least three years of experience working in a medical practice, veterinary practice, or a customer-facing role in another industry. (essential)
- Must be friendly, outgoing, "people-oriented," and have a great sense of humour. (essential)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. (essential)
- Be compassionate and sympathetic and maintain a professional attitude and demeanour during emotional and stressful situations. (essential)
- Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change. (essential)
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. (essential)
- Strong organisational and time management skills and data integrity. (essential)
- A passion for animals and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for our clients and patients. (essential)
- An accurate 50+ wpm average typing speed (typing speed test will apply). (desired)
- Reasonable animal handling skills. (desired)
- Excellent office/computer skills (Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Email, Internet, ability to quickly learn to use clinic's software). (essential)
