With a vertically integrated supply chain, we maintain a herd of over 150,000 head of Wagyu and commercial cattle. We oversee every step of the process, from breeding and backgrounding to grain feeding and sales of the finished product. This approach ensures the highest standards of animal husbandry, traceability, and quality assurance as we strive to produce the world's best Wagyu beef.
About the Property
The Glendon Park / Camperdown Aggregation is located in the heart of the New England Tablelands, at 1180m above sea level approximately 40km northeast of Armidale in New South Wales. The property is an aggregation of Glendon Park, Camperdown, Tulloch and Girrakool covering an area of 8000 hectares. It is one of a growing number of properties in our world class 2GR Wagyu business.
About the Role
The Manager’s primary focus is to achieve production and profitability through the management of the day-to-day activities of the property. Overseeing a team of four, running a herd of 3000 pure bred and full blood Wagyu breeders, the Manager is responsible for prioritising animal welfare, embracing new technology, and promoting sustainable farming practices.
- Lead, mentor and develop the property team
- Ensure the highest standards of animal husbandry and welfare are upheld
- Ensure individual livestock records are accurate
- Continue the property development plan upgrading pastures, water and infrastructure.
- Manage budgets and project manage capital works and development program
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in Wagyu cattle and in cow/calf herd management
- Experience in New England pasture management (both grazing and development)
- Sound understanding of carrying capacity, grass budgeting and rotational grazing
- Demonstrable track record in property asset maintenance
- Intermediate computer literacy. Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to the health and safety of team members
- Dozer operations would be advantageous to this role
