Description
Moderna is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to oversee the daily health and welfare of the animals housed in our facility, provide training and technical support to researchers, and support the husbandry staff. This individual will have experience managing the daily operations of an animal facility, regulatory oversight, and proficiency in animal handling and technical procedures.
Here's What You'll Do:
- In your role, you will:
- Manage the animal care and use training program, including live animal training, facility orientation, and records keeping.
- Provide veterinary monitoring and support to research animals in collaboration with Moderna's attending veterinarian.
- Work with lead animal technician to maintain laboratory equipment, animal procurement, and disposable inventory.
- Provide mentorship to a group of highly skilled animal technicians who work together as a team to provide husbandry and operational support to Moderna's rodent animal facility.
Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
- Education: B.S. or B.A. in Animal Science or related field. Certified Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Technician, AALAS RLAT or RLATg certified preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in supporting laboratory animal facility operations.
- Knowledge: The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of animal facility operations, experience in working with various animal species, and extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal animal care and use regulations.
